This just in; The Law Society of Canada is pursuing the development of a new license that entitles members to practice any where in the country in certain matters of specialty that are governed by Federal Statutes such as the Divorce Act and the Family Law Act of the relevant provinces. We can provide research reports that will provide precise answers to any question you have with the information sourced from our library; in a concise report/library research report. The license will also entitle members to practice Criminal law; including the indictable matters and also the summary election matters. It will also entitle them to practice MVA law. There is continuing professional development but no exam to obtain the license. You will have to come to court to help your client if you are counsel of record. You will have to cooperate with other counsel if asked to provide dates for motions. You will have to abide by the rules of professional conduct. Actually from now on, you will be given a license number in any forum where you attend in public and you will will have to confirm your email address and contact details on the record; and if you make a mistake that attracts a penalty or review of your activity, you pay a fine only. Contempt of Court proceedings will no longer ensue without a motion filed with affidavit evidence and transcripts by the Judge or Justice of the Peace seeking to hold the member in contempt. Warren did not have any problems like this. He was never found in contempt and never committed any misconduct. His record is unblemished although there was a sullen effort to sully his beginner's luck. This is being resolved since we now know who is so insistent that he should feel excluded; Gaan Radner. The Divorce Act changed as of March 1, 2021. There are no changes to the grounds for divorce or how to apply for divorce. The most significant difference is the change in terminology. The Act now uses “parenting arrangements” (formerly known as “custody and access”) to describe where the children will live and how decisions about them will be made.

The Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance Act (FOAEAA) changed as of November 15, 2023. Part I of the FOAEAA now allows for the release of a person’s income information to assist in support cases . For more information see Helping with Family Obligations.

As of February 1, 2024, families in Ontario and Manitoba may be eligible to receive child or spousal support for which they were not previously eligible from parents outside Canada.
