A daughter of a law firm clerk steals a box of files at a partner's home just as he is buying a house where she is entered on the property as co owner. She takes it to the Law Society. This is an ethics issue. The Law Society should call the Police and advise them of the theft. Instead, They gave the daughter $5000.00 and decided to start an investigation on the partner and the firm. The real issue is theft of property and conduct that is unbecoming of a Firm employee or family member, unbecoming of a citizen. The Real Estate Council of Ihavepaneo or the Law Society of Ihavepaneo should follow the ethics guidelines and call the members involved while encouraging the member to forward the theft of property issue to the police.
