The good attitude wins the day; This just in: it has been approved as rumoured that all Ontario Post Secondary College programs have adopted a new marking scheme to encourage participation and attendance. All enrolled students will graduate on one condition; that they attended all lectures and classes with any "in class" participation. This will render a PASS or a D. You must at least attempt all assignments, tests and sit the final exam. You do not have to pass or finish the tests, assignments or exams but you cannot leave the tests unattempted but must show participation. This is the GED pass program. To complete the program, it is confirmed that general attendance with some participation is therefore most essential. Tuition rates will be clearly posted online and also in brochures that you can have mailed to you or you can pick them up in person. In addition to that, you demonstrate an attitude that confirms your appreciation for the College and you will always maintain this appreciation. Higher results will require graded participation in the tests, projects and exams for potential final results such as C, C+ B, B+ or A. The joblessness occasioned by automation demands an occupation of our time, energies and retraining. Young persons need to appreciate the consequences of their actions and fiduciary duties on a job and the demands of job contracts. If for any chance they cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness they must provide a doctor's note confirming the same and nothing further. If no such note is available, then immediate graduation is not confirmed and then test and exam participation is required in the hope of achieving graduation. In addition, the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) will start on Monday March 9th, 2026 an automated practical work experience program. All persons 18 years of age and older up to the age of 100 years old who have no known disabilities can sign up for an OPP job and work program to be provided a public presence in the airports, on Go trains, buses and all other transit services. They will be provided a special downloaded ID and a letter confirming their registration by email that they can show other staffers if such ID is requested. They will sign up online, answer the critical questions and no CPR or security guard licence is required. A high school qualification is not required but will be encouraged so people can attend school part time to obtain a GED at College in the basic pass programmes; usually the Arts and Humanities programmes. They will provide payment information and will also receive an immediate credit of $1500.00 to the account provided. This is in addition to their first assignment, most likely at a GO Train station or UP station or TTC station on a 12 hour shift. They may be assigned to a library also. They get one shift a week paid at $1500.00. There could be Court Assignments to act as Court Assistants ( per diem Duty Counsel for individuals with Law Clerk or Law degree or with any other Under Graduate backgrounds). You may be assigned to the Scotiabank Arena during an event or other such venues. This will be helpful as some OPSEU existing employees may be called upon to assist in other work at the Ministry of Education to teach at universities or colleges or at the Courts, to assist work that is needed in other ministries where required.
