This just in; York University has, as rumored, set up a new combined GED with BA and GED with BA(Hons) program to be conducted primarily through their Glendon Campus in Toronto. A new 15 storey student residence will be built on the site also that, at the present moment, resembles what looks like a Bomb shelter from the 1950's. This is not appropriate. It has a reminiscent feeling from another school building era and this is reassuring; prayerful yet punishing. But, the bland architecture and sense of abandonment is unbecoming for any Federally funded university campus in a third rate city like Toronto that is building properties at an alarmingly rapid rate with Federal funding while at the same time covertly allowing the people in the GTA to remain underfunded; the people in the general Toronto area. The reason why Toronto is a third rate city is due to the evidence of human suffering and unusual encampments at a rather unusually high rate, causing alarm to tourists and residents. It is socioeconomically evil; an ugliness and not a laughing matter. But, it could be what the angry orphan wants of you as she pretends to be the real queen or king with her apple phones. The issue is with frauds on all kinds of individuals taking place at the banks and also a failure to apply law and basic humane expectations with available money and technology to solve human emergency needs. An emergency debit card is much preferred to an ER bed in some ward or the encampments. At least people can keep moving and get to where they are safe. The program does not offer the first GED year free to everyone but the first year will be free to anyone who can provide proof that they attended High School in the GTA at any time in their personal lived experience. If you do not complete the program from start to finish, then you will at least receive your diploma in general education that will confirm it is a Secondary School Diploma equivalent. The BA is a four year program and the BA(Hons) is a five year program. Also all, York University programs will now follow the participation factor in determining who will obtain a pass for any course. The No One Can Fail protocol: No one can fail unless they fail to attend class, tests and exams. But, during tests, exams and assessments, you must demonstrate some genuine effort. Your lowest possible result is a PASS D. Depending on effort and achievement after that, you may obtain results such as D+, C, C+, B or A. You can be withdrawn for plagiarism and also possibly charged with attempt fraud. If you cannot attend, you must provide a Doctor's note. This principle applies to all programs except law, engineering and math or computer programming based programs. The issue is that AI is not only a fun, expressive tool for those in media. AI is achieving real work in some AI based computing that renders many jobs for humans as now redundant; don't need you to work yet we need you to shop and purchase. But, we cannot depend on machines if the machine would ever run out of electricity or battery power or connectivity. Humans must know the answer when this is humanly possible. The key issue is that while machines are doing more work, we must also keep ourselves occupied and active with some learning of some kind. The schools are Federally and provincially funded so space for new students is available. It will also help to keep the schools across the country fully occupied. UWO has apparently adopted this proposal while also ensuring total archival, library resource and transcript database security.
