This is a reminder of tomorrow's launch of former SOAS PhD student Dr. Benedetta Lanfranchi's book, Philosophies of Justice in Acholi: Responsibility in Times of Collective Suffering.

 

The event is co-hosted by the SOAS African Politics cluster, Centre for Pan-African Studies, Centre of African Studies, and the Royal African Society.

 

It's a brilliant book on African political philosophy (in this case in the context of northern Uganda) and how this links to conceptions of justice, from the precolonial period through the Lord's Resistance Army conflict to the present.
